In this project, Custom Wine Cellars Orange County installed cable wine racks supplied by IronWine Cellars. These are called Cable Wine Systems consisting of glass cradles, highly durable tension cables, and clamps to hold the bottles securely.
The multi-faceted Orange County modern wine cellar design consists of five sections. The top section of the wall has small divisions of wine displays intended to hold large-format bottles. Below them is a fireplace with two large wine displays on its sides. We installed triple-deep wine racks to maximize the storage capacity of the minimalist wine cellar.
The cradles can be arranged depending on the client’s personal preference for the spacing and placement of the bottles. The bottles are displayed in a label-forward orientation in a cascading manner, allowing for easy perusal of the wines.

Glass Wine Cellar Doors

The glass door in each section comes with a metal pull handle. The glass panels used are thermally insulated to help achieve stable wine storage conditions. Failure to insulate the glass doors could result in condensation build-up and mold growth.
We equipped the doors with weather stripping, a sealing component essential for sealing all the gaps around the edges of the doors. An airtight seal will prevent air leakage to and from the wine cellar and help the wine cooking to work with superior efficiency.
Wine Cellar Lighting System

Initially, the lighting panel that would be used for this project was made of acrylic. We placed alabaster behind the cable racking, a translucent material that allows the light to pass through the small gaps and crevices, resulting in random patterns of streaks on its surface.
We installed LED lights to keep the client’s wine collection safe from the excessive heat and harmful UV rays emitted by regular light bulbs. Too much heat can ruin the wines. LED lights are also cost-savvy because they consume less energy.
